by Luke Tolley & Dave Griswold On May 15th & 16th several Rogers High School students involved in the Interact program spent some time cleaning up Hillyard. Interact is a Rotary sponsored service club for high school students. The effort began with the intention of a clean-up effort in East Hillyard, but when the scope of an East Hillyard clean up became clear, a smaller, baby-step effort came together in the form of the Hillyard Square Heritage Museum Park on Queen & Market. The service club came together with their rakes, shovels and other equipment to beautify Hillyard’s pocket park.
