Variety Revival

by Karen Tuininga

Once again, the doors of Hillyard Variety are open and offering... well, just that. A Hillyard variety. During the month of December the store located at 5009 N. Market St. in the Victor-Bell building was home to the North Pole Gift Shop, a non-profit and for-profit opportunity featuring photos with Santa. Since then, Vickie and Marvin Peterson, long term vendors at Market Street Market, have aquired the space and provided brick and mortar for small business and fund raising projects, many of whom are also from M.S.M. While hosting the display for the Hillyard Charrette, they put together an attractive store at the heart of historic downtown Hillyard.

CONGRATULATIONS!

Marvelous Marvin will soon be opening a computer upgrade and repair shop at the back of the store, while Vickie has her incense and treasures up front. In between is a huge variety of gifts and collectibles. Along the aisles you will find breweriana and jewelry, blankets and dragons, Native Americana, fishing gear, prints and framing supplies, toys and dream catchers. Mixed in are several local fundraisers, including the Hillyard Festival Association, the Hillyard Fire and Rail Museum, and the Children's Christmas Fund. Coming soon will be old time photos and year around holiday photos.

Marvin and Vickie would like to thank the many volunteers who helped make this adventure happen!

Who knows what's coming up next!
Stop by and see...
HILLYARD VARIETY.
