One of the Hillyard Neighborhood Council’s main goals for
2005 was to improve communications. We believe we have done this
through community wide mailers, more word of mouth and the
utilization of this website.
For 2006 we have taken on the goal of trying to tie together
the mutual efforts of all of Hillyard’s many organizations. With
that in mind we have called a special meeting for January 17th
(6:30pm, NECC) to plan the coming year. We will dedicate our
first meeting of the year to planning out a calendar for the
year. Our organizations can use this information to plan
fundraisers and better serve the community and businesses of
Hillyard.
- So, it is up to Hillyard’s organizations to attend this
meeting to supply the data.
- It is up to the businesses in Hillyard to attend to tell
us how to serve you and improve your business
- And it is up to the residents of the community to come
and let us know if we are doing what you want us to do. It
is up to the residents to guide the organizations of
Hillyard. We work for you.
We will also be discussing areas of concentration for the
Hillyard Neighborhood Council for 2006. Should we focus on:
- Impact and planning of the North-South Corridor
- Traffic/speeds in Downtown Hillyard
- Attracting businesses and jobs to Hillyard
- Repaving of Haven in 2006
- Community Events OR
- Something else entirely
It's time to discuss what you want for your community in the
new year. Come to our special Hillyard Neighborhood
Council meeting. Mark your calendars for:
Tuesday, January 17th, 6:30 pm, at the
Northeast Community Center, 4001 N Cook.
All Community leaders, business people and residents are
encouraged to attend!
