What's What?
by Karen Tuininga

What is what in Hillyard? Uninformed idle talk flies about like startled bats from a belfry, throwing out their confusion toward any listener. Fortunately, bats also communicate with radar and, those who do not flee, return... again.

What's what is that Hillyard is drawing from within itself and from all around itself. The level of cohesion has grown strong. Mutual support for the good of the whole is morphing and growing. Hillyard has the ability to bring our nineteenth century heritage into the twenty-first.

Volume 6: Internet Forums 103: Helpful hints for using the Historic-Hillyard.com Community Forum, Advanced Forum Personalization.

Welcome back class, I hope you enjoyed Internet Forums 101 and 102.  This class will further delve into what makes using Internet forums fun.  Like anything else, if you don't make it your own, you're not going to enjoy it to its full potential.  So, this article will focus on formatting text and adding graphics, links and other web elements in your posts..

A special Thank You to Turbo-Burn for picking up and storing the rails unearthed during the construction of the Upper Falls Condos at the Flour Mill. These rails were more than 30-feet long and required a long flat-bed. We hope to use these rails somewhere in the landscape or streetscape in the Hillyard revitalization efforts.

It's Been Quite a Week...or Two... or Three...

Whew! we're tired. None of us are sure which way is up but what we do know is this - the Transportation Application is done! For those of you who have been following the ups and downs and swerves of the Hillyard Downtown Revitalization Project and the submittal of the application, probably have an idea of how a small group of people feel right now. Did we mention being tired? How about brain dead?

The entire process has been enlightening to be sure. To beat the deadline for the submission of the application, the Historic Hillyard Partnership has been working steady for weeks. We're not grant writers. We're not city planners. We're just normal working people who want to see Hillyard get a chance. MORE >>
