Isn't that an interesting word? Just about everybody I know has heard it. But it isn't a word that that shows up in many conversations.

Bamboozled jumped into my mind while I was looking at an eBay site that was selling a product for a penny. There was a bid even though the explanation was brief, the picture was blurry, and the shipping price to the "winner" was more than the worth of the item.  More >>

Sometimes Something Special Happens...

Under One Roof

The concept for “Under One Roof” started with a meeting in June of 2004. Karen Kearney called some of us together to discuss the need in the Northeast and West Central neighborhoods for a place similar to Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery.

Karen cited the many cases where very young children are severely injured or killed while under the care of a non-relative/non-professional caregiver. Unfortunately our neighborhood sees more of this type of events than other areas of the city. These caregivers have included boyfriends, casual friends, people who just happen to live next door.   More >>

The Hillyard Festival Association
Meeting regularly on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of every month to plan events for this summer.  Hope to see you there , bring ideas!!

Spring House Greening
Saturday, April 16th.  Volunteers will pick up household waste material (paint cans, oil cans, etc.) for senior citizens and the physically challenged.  For pickup or other information, please call 532-7645.

2 bands, open to public, 7:00 - ? $1.00 at the door.
