BAMBOOZLED...
by Karen Tuininga
Isn't that an interesting word? Just about
everybody I know has heard it. But it isn't a
word that that shows up in many conversations.

Bamboozled jumped into my mind while I was
looking at an eBay site that was selling a
product for a penny. There was a bid even though
the explanation was brief, the picture was
blurry, and the shipping price to the "winner"
was more than the worth of the item.

Hello
again Hillyardites! It’s time for another

Sometimes Something Special Happens...
Under One Roof
The concept for
“Under One Roof” started with a meeting in
June of 2004. Karen Kearney called some of
us together to discuss the need in the
Northeast and West Central neighborhoods for
a place similar to Vanessa Behan Crisis
Nursery.
Karen cited the
many cases where very young children are
severely injured or killed while under the
care of a non-relative/non-professional
caregiver. Unfortunately our neighborhood
sees more of this type of events than other
areas of the city. These caregivers have
included boyfriends, casual friends, people
who just happen to live next door.
