Editorial Commentary

And we say Good-bye

Karen Tuininga has served as our Editorial Commentator for almost a year now.  We were recently informed that she has too many irons in the fire to continue. With that said, we want to say 'Thank You Karen', for all your hard work and for offering all Hillyard a unique perspective and outlook into our community. We wish you well.

With that said, we now need to find a replacement. If you, or if you know someone, who likes to write, is interested in community and city affairs, and has an opinion, please contact us.

Volume 7: Internet Forums 104: Helpful Hints for using the Historic-Hillyard.com Community Forum, Advanced Forum Personalization 2: Signatures.

Welcome to the final installment of Helpful Hints for using the Historic-Hillyard.com Community Forum.  Hopefully you are familiar with my first three columns: Internet Forums 101, 102 and 103.  This volume will wrap up the basics of internet forum interaction and personalization.  I believe I have illustrated by now that these little lessons are no match for actual trial and error real life experience, but I will do my best to send you off in the right direction.

Neighborhood Purchasing Survey for
Businesses & Households

The City of Spokane Neighborhood Business Centers Program (NBC for short) is looking for your assistance in helping us complete a very important purchasing survey within your neighborhood.  NBC needs to identify leaks in our neighborhood economies. The purchasing survey asks questions to see how much you are shopping in or outside of your neighborhood.

Once the surveys are gathered and the results tabulated we will use the information to help revitalize neighborhoods. Your neighborhood can use the data to secure funding for neighborhood projects, or to help promote your neighborhood businesses. The survey results will be reported back to the neighborhoods in a variety of ways, including the City of Spokane’s web site www.spokanecity.org.

Because we have a very short time frame on getting these surveys out, back, and tabulated for some preliminary numbers by mid November, we ask that you take a few minutes now to complete and return the survey. Please let your neighbor know of the survey and encourage them to complete it too.

Business Survey: Please follow the link to the Business Survey Brochure, which explains why the information we are seeking is important. Then we ask you to follow the link to the Business Survey to complete and return as soon as possible.

Household Survey: Please follow the link to the Household Survey Brochure, which explains why the information we are seeking is important. Then we ask you to follow the link to the Household Survey to complete and return as soon as possible.

Thank you for your time and assistance. Should you have any questions please feel free contact, Teri Cameron, City of Spokane Economic Development Division intern.
