Great Scavenger Hunt of Downtown Hillyard
The first in a series
of three, the following is a story written by a team
of Middle Schoolers from Shaw after their class trip
through downtown Hillyard.
Hillyard - On Thursday
May 31, Shaw students from Mrs. Hilbush block
classes went on a scavenger hunt in downtown
Hillyard.

Hillyard Festival Association
Meeting
Every Tueday, 6:30pm, Northeast Community Center,
4001 N Cook St. The HFA is Hillyard's Fun
Committee! Our theme for this year is Hillyard
Heroes! We've wrapped up ChalkArtWalk with
great success. Now we're working on the
Hillyard Gazette (for
more info, e-mail gazette@historic-hillyard.com),
and the Hillyard Festival and Hi-jinks Parade is the
first weekend of August and we plan to continue the
improvements and add even more fun and merriment.
Kiwanis has grown their Midway Kids Games and added
a fireworks show! We'll be bringing back last
year's favorites Motorcycle Show and Shine and the
Beer Garden and much more!
Come help us plan, volunteers, or just put in your
two cents. We'd love to have you!

Meeting
Wednesday, June 27th, 6:30pm, Bluz at the Bend, Market & Illionis. Join
us for the Greater Hillyard Business Association.
We've just submitted our Notice of Interest to the
Mann Hall Local Redevelopment Authority Advisory
Council, not what? Come find out this and much
more, we are growing and moving quickly! All
are welcome.

7:00pm, Northeast Community Center, 4001 N Cook St.
The Hillyard Steering Committee is responsible for
dispersing the funds given to Hillyard from the city
Community Development funds. All are welcome to
attend.
