Initiative backers don gag, cuffs in
protest
Friday,
January 27, 2006
Initiative
backers don gag, cuffs in protest. Eyman,
others say bills would curtail citizen
input. Initiative promoter Tim
Eyman, and associate Mike Fagan, of
Spokane, showed up to a state Senate
hearing Thursday in jail-inmate
jumpsuits and chains, with duct tape
over their mouths. The costumes were
intended to protest a series of bills
that would limit ballot initiatives and
referenda. (Richard Roesler/The
Spokesman-Review)
