Mann Hall Public Meeting
Wednesday,
January 10th, 5-6pm Open House, Presentation 6pm,
Mann Hall Army Reserve Center, 4415 N Market.
The “Gateway to Hillyard,” the Mann Hall Army
Reserve Center is being decommissioned by the U.S.
Army and the City of Spokane Local Redevelopment
Authority (LRA) Advisory Committee, overseeing the
redevelopment planning for the center invites you to
an open house and presentation to stimulate future
uses of the location and receive public comment.
The event is intended to educate citizens about the
potential of the site as well as to generate
proposals for redevelopment by interested
individuals and organizations, including
organizations serving the community, homeless,
governmental entities , non-profit and for-profit
corporations. Citizens will also be able to provide
written input on what and how they would like to see
the site developed.
All are welcome to attend. The Mann
Center is an active military facility, attendees
must have photo I.D. and bags, backpacks,
briefcases, etc will not be allowed. Photography is
aloud outside the facility only.
Hillyard Design
Charrette
January 11-13,
The streets of Hillyard. Each Fall and
Spring semester Washington State University
Spokane’s Interdisciplinary Design Institute (IDI)
starts with a two- to three-day charrette. A
charrette is an intense design, problem solving
process of limited duration. The charrette planned
for January 11, 12, and 13 will join Rogers High
School students with WSU graduate and undergraduate
architecture, landscape architecture, and interior
design students. Twenty-five teams of IDI and high
school students will focus their creative energies
on the revitalization of downtown Hillyard, Market
Street retail district. Our intent is that each
design team will have two high school student
