7/10/06 Update:

AWESOME! That's a word that I rarely use in conversation but the best to describe the acoustic concert staged at the Market Street Market Friday night. Brought to our neighborhood by Disco Bob Kinyon, Logan Heftel, Kristan Marlo, Michael Garfield, and Mark Ward, accompanied by violinist Kelsey, played to a small crowd like it was thousands. Their original compositions and cover songs were soulful, touching, amusing, and exciting, each performer an asset to the others. Bob's upgraded lighting system added grace and symmetry to the performers and those who attended.

Four young women came in after the second act had begun, the person they came to see, and were undecided as to if they should stay or not. I told them they certainly wouldn't be sorry... And they were the very last of the spectators to leave the venue.

Truly, if you have an opportunity to attend an event involving any of these these bright young performers, do yourself a favor and go there. You won't be sorry!

Announcing an all ages concert at the Market Street Market, 5906 N. Market St., Friday, July 7th at 7:00 PM. "Disco" Bob brings to Market Street Market four very talented solo acoustic artists from the local scene and beyond. $5.00 at the door will provide three hours of great entertainment. Snacks and drinks will be available on site.

Opening the show will be Logan Heftel. At just 19 his accomplished vocals, harmonica and guitar styles, have landed him a contract to perform at colleges across the U.S.A., and public venues during the summer months around the Inland Empire.

Next up will be Kristen Marlo, age 20, currently stationed at Fairchild A.F.B. Kristen has served our country faithfully during the Afghanistan Conflict and in Iraq. Her experiences in the Middle East have influenced her beautiful original ballads and love songs, comparable to Sarah McLachlin or Norah Jones.  More information may be found at http://www.myspace.com/kristenmarlothegreat.

Hailing from Lawrence, Kansas, Michael Garfield will next take the stage. At age 22 Michael is currently traveling the Pacific Northwest with National Tours Act promoting his newest CD. Accelerating at the age of 15, Michael has become a talented songwriter and guitarist. His strumming, plucking, slapping, and tapping, along with his vocals and percussion, takes on the quality of a three piece band. More information may be found at www.myspace.com/michaelgarfield.

Rounding out the show will be Mark Ward with a variety of vocal and guitar originals. Mark has played many venues in and around the Spokane area. He recently played to an enthusiastic crowd at our own Hillyard ChalkArtWalk on June 3rd. More information on Mark may be found at www.myspace.com/markwardmusic.

Stop by the Market Street Market Friday, July 7th, and have a wonderful evening supporting these accomplished and talented musical artists!
