MARKET STREET MARKET
THIRD SEASON

by Karen Tuininga

Activities abound at Market Street Market, open for our third season. If I may say, what a long strange trip it's been! Along the way we have evolved into something rather more, and definitely better, than anything we envisioned.

A lot of surprises have come our way, some difficult to get past. Great partners and community support have helped enable M.S.M. to live and breath. The third time is the charm, as they say, and many changes are coming to Market Street Market.

M.S.M opened with a wonderful children's carnival. The "Has Beens and Wannabees" put on an incredible display of traditional kids games in only one months time. Kids of all ages went home with prizes and smiles. They will be back in September.

The N.W.R.F. held a mini Renaissance Festival with a hilarious re-enactment of high tea in the court of Henry the VIII. Auditions will be taking place in the Fall.

Newlyweds passing by stopped and asked for pictures on the Ferris wheel. A cobble courtyard has been completed with garden decor' accented with a grass and floral display .

Many works in progress, Market Street Market aims at becoming an entertainment option. Rogers High School will hold their Homecoming Dance at M.S.M. Friday, September 10th, beginning at 8:00 P.M. Grad Night is scheduled for June 10th, 2006.

We offer better than 10 acres of indoor/outdoor space. Vendor space includes areas for auctions, shows, dances, concerts, sports events, and entertainment in the New Groove Room. Public amenities have been improved and the installation of the heating system will allow us to offer our services all year around.

5906 N. Market, turn right just north of the Ferris wheel.
